God is so faithful. So loving. So good. So merciful.

Yesterday, my dear friend Taya was supposed to be induced at 7:45 a.m. As she and Ross were packing up their van at 7:00 a.m. she went into labor on her own and sweet little Elijah was born before 1 p.m. Here’s a LINK to their blog with some photos and information.

And earlier this week, I read on facebook that a friend from back east (one of my former high school students) had her baby girl. I was shocked b/c I was pretty sure that Julie was due AFTER me… not before me. So tonight I got an e-mail update from her with a brief version of the story. In short, Haley was born very early (around 30 weeks) and weighed less than 3 pounds. She’s already back up to her birth weight. but she will likely be in the NICU until she was "due" to arrive (early December). Julie and Dan do have a 2 (or 3?)-year old son (Jacob) at home, so please keep them in  your prayers.

On the flip side of these happy notes, I have two friends who are hurting right now and could also use your prayers.

My friend Sandy lost her uncle this morning. Completely unexpectedly. He was only 60. Please pray for Sandy & her mom through this time as they mourn the loss of uncle and brother.

Additionally, a week and a half ago, my sweet friend Linda (who has been a HUGE BLESSING in my life), unexpectedly lost her 28-year old brother in a freak accident. Please keep Linda, her 2 sisters and her parents (along with the rest of their family) in your prayers. They were in Nevada last week (where he lived) and this week they’re all home, preparing for a memorial service.

I know that God is faithful. Loving. Good. and Merciful. It’s hard to remember when tragedy strikes. Especially losses like this that seem senseless. But He promises us that He will be with us through the good times and the bad. And He never promises us an easy life. But He does promise to be our EVERYTHING – our Healer, our Comforter, our Provider, our Support, our Father, our Savior, our Rock, our Stronghold and so much more. So tonight, I rejoice with Ross, Taya and Isaiah. and I rejoice with Dan, Julie and Jacob. And at the same time, I mourn with my friends Sandy and Linda.

Thanks for letting me share from my heart about my dear friends who are all going through very different circumstances.
